When there is no receiving SETP server configured, we get lots of events from MWAgent in the Application logs of reporting computers. We get about 11 events each hour, e.g. first ten events of type 1005 (Can't initiate SETP session) then one event of type 151 (Numerous runtime events).

Of course this is no surprise to us. However, these events are somewhat disturbing since with time they tend to fill the application log, e.g. causing other events to be lost if the event log wraps around.

In the operational system there will always be a receiver for SETP so then the problem will go away. However, during integration the receiver may be missing.

Is it possible to configure the MWAgent to not issue events when it fails to initiate the SETP session? Is it possible to change the way the "numerous events" filter works?

We are using MWAgent version 2.2.

hi,

it is currently not possible to suppress error messages in the SETP Server, or to configure the occurrences limit of error messages that have to be occur before logging is being stopped.

If it is an urgent need for you, we can add this into the Rolling Beta of 3.0 of MWAgent ASAP.

Thank you for the swift answer! As I said earlier, this will not be a problem in the operational system. I guess we will have to live with the problem during integration. By the way, we only have licenses for version 2.x, so an updated 3.0 beta will not help us.

Version 3.0 is nearing completition. I don't have a date yet, but it will be released in the first few month of this year.
Anyway, the RB 3.0 will still work with 2.x key till 2005-05-01. Is if you like to try, you can
