[Frustrated]

Hey everyone,

Im constatly having to release/renew my ip address on my XP client. After idol periods the machine will lose its connection to my dfs share, and also Active directory. Looking at the event viewer I have tons of dnsapi warnings:

The system failed to register host (A) resource records (RRs) for network adapter
with settings:

Adapter Name : { }
Host Name : wks####
Primary Domain Suffix : ####
DNS server list :
192.168.1.121
Sent update to server : 192.1.1.1
IP Address(es) :
192.168.1.2


Searching MS I could only find solutions to allow dns updates to the top level domain. I adjusted this setting in GPO, but same result. Also tried changing this option in the reg.

Kinda lost here!
