I just recelty upgraded to Windows Server 2003 Web Edition which uses IIS6. I followed the procedure listed in the faq to allow password manager. Now when I try to change my password I get a "You are not Authorized to View this Page" error. I am using anonymous security within IIS and the anonymous user has NTFS permissions and the directory is set up for script and executables. I have this same setup on Win2k and everything works fine. Is it an IIS 6 security issue?

just to be sure, you followed the instructions which are described here?

If yes and it still doesn't work, can you take a look into your webserver logfile? The line which shows the access to Passwordmanager.dll is interesting.

I know that it has been a while since a possible solution was posted. I have been playing with it since then and it still won't work. I have done everything that is listed in the faq. I looked at the log file and this is the line when trying to access the passwordmanager.dll: 2005-04-27 16:25:31 192.168.1.44 POST /CommonFiles/isapi/PasswordManager.dll - 80 - 192.168.2.144 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+SV1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322) 401 3 0

Any other suggestions?

Well tbh I have no Idea whats going wrong, so I have to ask a couple of questions in order to come closer to the problem.

- Are you running on Windows 2003 ServicePack 1 already?
- Are any detailed error's displayed on the webpage? From the http code it says Access Denied to the Passwordmanager.dll
- You aren't prompted for a username or password before this error comes?

Have you also double checked the Anonymous Authentication Options? Maybe there is something wrong with the default settings.
